Creative expression through yoga, movement and art supports the mind-body connection towards wellness. The Washington Elementary School children had a creative Heartful Yoga field day customizing and capturing their emotions and feelings of their experience of the past challenging year. They had a place to express it together from a verbal way in the classroom to a non-verbal collaborative experience on the playground. Each grade category came up with 3 key words and 2 prominent colors that prompted reflection and simple direction for creating the mind-body creative experience to be done together.
What’s the best part? There is no right or wrong - dirty hands and a lot of exploration with guided creative play to make these artful masterpieces. The students and the teachers did NOT know what to expect as they were in the process of just letting their bodies, minds, hands and hearts have fun together. A true mastery or wizardry of where we can go creatively supporting each other in our process of flow to our highest creative potential of expression
